Why Healing is Important

Why Healing is Important

None of us is an accident.  No matter what has happened to you!  Even if you are a product of rape or unplanned pregnancy. God does not see you that way!  He has a plan for you.  He looks at you as a person who is worth dying for.  His purpose for you has never changed. Always keep this in mind so that you can avoid believing any other contradictory story.

A story is told of an eagle that had been caged for a long time.  One day, the owner opened the cage for the eagle to fly out.  But to his dismay, the eagle walked out and then returned to the cage. In its mind, it was a caged eagle!

That’s how the enemy deals with us (if we let him). That’s what the atrocities in the lives of many do.  You need to understand that you are more like that eagle if you don’t choose to heal.  Your full potential will never be reached.

You could be struggling with unforgiveness, bitterness or things that were done to you in an abusive home. And you are waiting for those who hurt you to come crawling back and asking for your forgiveness. But you need to understand that these people may never even turn back. They could—possibly—have even forgotten that they hurt you.

It was the enemy working through them to create a barrier that would hinder you from blossoming.

I have witnessed many people who would never say a word in crowds because they grew up being told that they are good for nothing and can never amount to anything. But when I look at them today standing in front of crowds and speaking so well, my eyes are opened to what the enemy was blocking. Oftentimes you need to ask yourself: what is the enemy blocking in my life as I hold onto this emotional debt?

A rose flower is meant to blossom. That’s how God—the creator—intended it to be. Its failure to blossom will not be due to a lack of petals. The only reason for its failure to blossom will be: not spreading the petals out. Likewise, if we never heal, we’ll turn out to be like that rose whose true beauty is hidden because its petals are not spread out.

Our petals are the gifts and talents God gave us.  The Bible says in Psalms 139:16 “Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, When [as yet there were] none of them.”

Understand that in you lies the potential to blossom and God who made you is interested in bringing you to it.  The enemy knowing the same is fighting against you.

The emotional debt is not something small.  You could be in a church where it receives little or no attention at all because in church we are meant to be “perfect.” But understand that it’s to your advantage that you heal.  The rose blossoming gives the glory to its creator! Likewise, you are still the greatest loser if you remain like that.

I urge you to find a place to heal. We have a recovery group at the Finepearls called Reach Center. It is a safe place where we get vulnerable and expect no judgment. For sure the Lord has healed us. You could be far from us but still, find a Christian recovery group. (The emphasis is on Christian.)

Remember one thing: It’s to your advantage that you heal!
