Be Intentional

Be Intentional

Theme Scripture: “When he heard that it was Jesus from Nazareth, he shouted, “Jesus, Son of David, have pity on me!” 48 Many people told the man to stop, but he shouted even louder, “Son of David, have pity on me!”49 Jesus stopped and said, “Call him over! “They called out to the blind man and said, “Don’t be afraid! Come on! He is calling for you.” 50 The man threw off his coat as he jumped up and ran to Jesus.51 Jesus asked, “What do you want me to do for you? “The blind man answered, “Master, I want to see!”52 Jesus told him, “You may go. Your eyes are healed because of your faith.” Right away the man could see, and he went down the road with Jesus.” Mark 10:47-52
The blind Bartimaeus so badly wanted to see that nobody would shut him up. Those that tried to shout him down had sight and he could have guessed that perfectly well! Every day he was carried to the same spot to beg and picked up late in the evening, these same people shutting him down had seen him for years and offered no solution to his situation. Alas, here was his opportunity finally, he didn’t miss it! The journey to healing starts with a decision restore to wholeness, a decision that blinds you to fear, shame, criticize and all forms of busyness to make time for what matters most.
I interact with many people that talk about a desire to heal but aren’t ready to let go of  certain habits, relationships or commit to the changes healing would require. They are not intentional, the would have kept quiet and remained build if they were blind Bartimaeus, they would allow to come back and beg the next day in the same spot even after the saviour had passed the previous day! We must develop an attitude that wants all in, one that is purposed to shout above the noise of the crowd to catch Jesus’ attention. How much to you want to pull through? Do your actions show how much you want to out of your current state?  Be intentional
